OUR PASTOR
Rev. A. F. Amos Lazarus
Rev. A.F. Amos Lazarus, a dynamic and dedicated pastor from the Church of South India – Madras Diocese, who currently serves as the Presbyter-in-Charge of the CSI Tamil Church, Sharjah, UAE.
Rev. Amos Lazarus was ordained as a Deacon on 29 April 2018 and as a Presbyter on 28 April 2019, faithfully serving God’s people with passion and pastoral care. He previously ministered in various pastorates in Tamil Nadu, including CSI Kollagunta, CSI Ksheerasamudram S.R. Puram, and most recently as Presbyter-in-Charge of CSI Thiruninravur Pastorate (2022–2025), before taking up this pastoral call in Sharjah.
He holds a Bachelor of Divinity (B.D.) from Tamilnadu Theological Seminary (2014–2018), a Master of Arts in English Literature, and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.). During his theological formation, he was selected for the prestigious Face to Face Program by the Council for World Mission (CWM) in 2016 and was awarded a cash prize by the National Council of Churches in India (NCCI) for his outstanding thesis titled “Self-Agency of Women’s Body with Special Reference to Sexuality and Mary’s Life as a Paradigm.”
Rev. Amos is also an experienced educator, having served as a Guest Faculty at Tamilnadu Theological Seminary, where he taught Theological Orientation and Theological English to B.D. students (2021–2024). His heart for justice and grassroots mission led him to intern with Narmada Bachao Andolan in Madhya Pradesh, working under the leadership of Ms. Medha Patkar, advocating for displaced rural communities.
In addition to his pastoral and academic roles, he also serves as the Director of the Rural Development Ministry of the CSI Madras Diocese, where he leads transformative initiatives focused on sustainable farming, land development, and community empowerment among rural and marginalized populations.
Rev. Amos Lazarus is married to Dr. Catherine Rebecca Barnabas, a Veterinary Doctor with a specialization in Wildlife Sciences (M.VSc), and they are blessed with a daughter, Baby Giana Abigail A C, who is three years old. He is fluent in Tamil, English, and Hindi, and brings with him a spirit of humility, vision, and deep theological insight.



Our Reverend has a vision to preach Christian principles and offer guidance to Christian believers. The Sharjah congregation is honoured to be led by him and are blessed to be a part of his soulful worship sessions.
